Settings and Configuration

Summary

*NEW* Management Console Enhancements

• Configure the appliance role (Master vs. Poller)
• Enable/Disable SSLv2 support
• Flush DNS cache
• Reset the porttracker appliance to its factory defaults

 

*NEW*API Enhancements

• Use the API to start bsync/qsync data synchronization
• The API now uses challenge-response authentication
• You can now configure realm settings, such as SNMP, Seed, Subnet and Device assignment, via the API
• The API port now supports SSL.

*NEW*Logging Enhancements, the porttracker appliance now does the following:

• Retains old logs after a firmware updates
• Logs appliance role changes
• Records all login events, including failed login attempts.

• SNMP throttling – timeouts, retries, and parallel requests
• Email configurations – Mail server and authentication
• Cisco VoIP Phones – Show as Infrastructure or End Devices
• Poller Assignments – Automatically assign Infrastructure to relevant distributed poller
• Max History Length – Limit the number of days history is kept

For first time visitors

porttracker allows you to configure and customize everything from SNMP settings, to email settings, to the amount of history data that is kept. You can even configure whether VoIP phone show up as switches or end devices.

porttracker has two types or users, Admin and normal. An Admin user has no restrictions to the appliance enabling them to configure/delete information within the database. A normal user has read only capabilities.
