porttracker announces latest feature release v2.1

June 15th 2009

Customer driven product development

Feedback from IT and Network Managers has shown the value of a device that could do what only hours of cable chasing could do before: track and report on what devices were and had previously been, connected to their network.

With porttracker, you can discover the reality of your port utilisation and be armed with the data you need to exert effective budgetary and management controls.

Listening to customer feedback and suggestions for improvements, and building upon the success of previous versions porttracker has today released v2.1.

v2.1 new features:

  • An increase in the number of supported vendor switches to include Nortel Baystack and Huawei Networks in addition to HP Procurve, 3Com, Cisco and Extreme Networks
  • porttracker can be interfaced into other systems and in response to market demands, an additional sync module has been developed for the Infoblox IPAM market. The bsync module syncs the switch port and end device information with the Infoblox grid master.
  • Support for a major IPAM tool – Alcatel-Lucent’s VitalQIP 7.2
