User Interface

> porttracker / porttracker features / flexible schedules

The porttracker user interface is a secure web interface running on the master appliance. Once you have connected the master appliance to the network and completed initial configuration (see getting started guide) it should be possible to connect to it using the following link:

https://IP address or hostname of master appliance

Saved View

Different views can be saved within switch / device view so that the data can be monitored in a quick and efficient manner. All infrastructure devices will be listed by default, but the view can be customized and saved with a new name.

Time Zone aware

The discovery schedule uses the time zone that is defined on the master appliance, even if the discovery realm is using a poller in a different time zone. Always schedule discoveries with this in mind (e.g. if the master appliance resides in a US Eastern time zone, but a discovery schedule needs to be performed at 4am US Pacific time, which is 3 hours behind US Eastern, schedule it to occur at 7am).

Selectable Columns

Columns can be added or removed depending on your criteria. This is done by simply clicking on the "Select Columns" button from the main device/switch view page.

Selectable Columns

Columns can be deselected by selecting the columns not required under "Selected columns" and clicking on the < button to move those columns to "Available columns".

Export to CSV

Data for the current view can be exported as a CSV file by clicking the export results button.

Flexible Administrative Rights

Porttracker has two types or users, Admin and normal. An Admin user has no restrictions to the appliance enabling them to configure/delete information within the database. A normal user has read only capabilities.

Content Sensitive help
